Change from Regular Cleaning to Green Cleaning

Mount Pleasant, SC – Earth Day is a week away and if you’re looking for a great way to help the planet, you can start by cleaning your house.

There’s a new organic cleaning boutique in Mount Pleasant that can help you save some green while going green.

“I’m trying to be greener in my life for a better planet and for the kids at home, so they’re not ingesting Clorox and such,” Anne Keane said.

Keane switched to an organic cleaning service to protect her children from the harsh chemicals in many household cleaning products.

“It’s fresher and its not so chemical smelling. When you walk in it’s a natural smell,” Keane said.

And she’s not the only one looking for a greener clean.

The MaidPure Organic Cleaning Service opened less than 2 years ago and despite the economy, business is booming.

“All of our clients kept asking us, what are you using, what works, where can we buy it,” Dorsey Fairbairn said.

The answer is at the new organic cleaning boutique on Coleman Blvd.

This is where Fairbairn and Heather Fairbairn have tested just about every natural and organic cleaning product on the market, including a chlorine bleach alternative that uses enzymes to get rid of mold and mildew.

The MaidPure Boutique also allows clients to bring their own bottles to the store to fill up with cleaners.

It’s called upcycling, and it not only helps the environment, but can save you some money as well. And in this economy, everyone’s watching their dollar.

“It’s $5. You’re bringing the stuff in, we’re going to squirt a couple of drops in there and send you on your way with change,” Fairbairn said.

And with many of the bulk cleansers, a few drops of concentrated liquid mixed with water means you’re spending just 10 cents a bottle to clean your house.

The MaidPure Boutique also has recipes you can follow to make your own cleaners at home from things like club soda, vinegar, and baking soda.
